Selain nonton, saya sukaaaaaaaaaaa banget baca. Bahkan melebihi kesukaan saya sama senyum kamu, suara kamu, ... #eh. OKE, FOKUS! Seriusan ini, hidup saya rasanya hampa banget kalo sebulan ga beli buku. Buku yang saya maksud di sini tentunya bukan buku pelajaran atau buku kuliah yaaaa, harap dicatat. Books I read usually novels sejenis Chicklit atau Metropop. I like the drama, the melancholy, sekedar untuk refreshing di kala penat. Tapi bukan berarti saya ga pernah baca buku-buku non-melancholy-drama, malahan saya pengagum berat Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie, dan J.K. Rowling. Terus saya juga suka buku non-fiksi yang ekstra-mikir, cuma aja saya pikir: ngapain nyusah-nyusahin otak buat mikir pas lagi baca, padahal tujuan dari saya baca itu justru untuk relax. #tsaaah. Saya juga suka baca buku import, sekalian latihan menambah-nambah vocabulary bahasa Inggris saya. Penulis luar favorit saya, selain yang udah disebutin di atas, pastinya Jane Austin dan Stephenie Meyers (sempet sebeeeeel banget tau orang-orang malah sukanya setelah Twilight Saga difilemin...). Kalo yang domestik, penulis nomor satu di hati saya adalah Esti Kinasih. Sumpah ya, sampe kapan pun saya bakal cinta mati sama "Fairish". Terus, nomor dua sama nomor tiganya yaitu Karla M. Nashar dan Ika Natassa.
Saya mau cerita kalo kemaren saya baru aja selesai baca novel karyanya Ika Natassa yang terbaru, judulnya "Antologi Rasa". Ceritanya tentang tiga sahabat yang berkutat dengan perasaannya terhadap satu sama lain. Here is the synopsis. Mungkin saya perlu kasih info sedikit siapa Ika Natassa buat yang belom tau. Beliau ini seorang banker yang secara pelan namun pasti terangkat namanya sebagai penulis. Tiga novel terdahulunya judulnya "A Very Yuppy Wedding", "Divortiare", dan "Underground". Actually, after I've finished reading "Divortiare", I began to love Ika's style of writing.
Nah, kesukaan saya yang lain (iya, iyaaaa, saya tau kesukaan saya banyak!) adalah mengutip kalimat atau paragraf yang menarik dalam buku-buku yang saya baca. Yang mau saya kutip berikut ada dalam "Antologi Rasa", tapi bukan di salah satu chapter-nya, melainkan dari bagian Ucapan Terima Kasih-nya Ika. She said:
"As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down, probably will. You'll have your heart broken and you'll break others' hearts. You'll fight with your best friends or maybe even fall in love with them, and you'll fly because time is flying by.
So take lots of pictures, laugh a lot, forgive freely, and love like you've never been hurt. Life comes with guarantees, no time outs, no second chances, You just have to live life to the fullest, tell someone what they mean to you, speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone's hand, comfort a friend in need, fall asleep watching a sun come up, stay up late, and smile until your face hurts. Don't be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all, LIVE IN THE MOMENT because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back."
Ika said that this short paragraph is a text sent by her best friend to her on new year's eve a couple years ago. She hope this will lead her readers to do something that will change their life forever, like it did hers. So I hope it'll happen to me, soon...
